How the structure works

Understanding the layers helps when you're trying to find the right contact or activity:

  • Region — Girlguiding LaSER, covering the whole of London and South East England.
  • County — 19 counties sit within the region. Counties coordinate training, events and support for their area.
  • Local group — the weekly meeting place where girls take part in activities. Groups sit inside counties.

So if you want to join or volunteer, the practical starting point is your local group, which sits within one of the 19 counties.

Finding your area

The site's "Who we are" section sets out the regional structure, and the "What's on" section lists current events and opportunities for girls, adults, members and volunteers. If you're unsure which county or group covers your address, use the join or volunteer routes on the site and the registration process will match you to a local group.

What this means in practice

  • For parents: registering your daughter starts a search for a group near you, within your county.
  • For volunteers: you give your time within a local group, supported by your county and the wider region.
  • For events: opportunities are listed region-wide, but many are run at county or group level, so check the location before signing up.
