Which cities and countries does Lowtein cover?

Updated

Lowtein covers Canada, the USA, Australia, and the UK, with city-level pages for each. If you're in one of those four countries, you can jump straight to your city from the homepage; if your city isn't listed, you can browse the full city list by country and region. Coverage is organized by country, then by province or state, then by city — so the fastest way to check whether your area is supported is to open the country section and scan the region you live in.

Countries covered

Lowtein publishes grocery and meat price comparisons for four countries:

  • Canada
  • USA
  • Australia
  • UK

Each country has its own section on the site, and the homepage lets you jump directly to a city or expand the full list.

How city browsing works

The site offers two ways in:

  1. Location detection. Lowtein detects your location and shows this week's deals for the nearest supported city — for example, "See this week's deals in Frederick → Detected from your location." If that isn't your city, you can pick a different one.
  2. Manual browsing. Use "Jump to a city" for a short list of major cities, or expand "Browse all cities" to see every supported location grouped by province or state.

Major cities by country

These are the cities highlighted in the quick-jump list:

Country Quick-jump cities
Canada Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary
USA New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston

Beyond the quick-jump list, Lowtein lists many more cities, organized by region.

The US list continues beyond North Carolina — the homepage's city browser is the authoritative, always-current source, so check there if your state isn't shown above.

UK and Australia

The quick-jump list covers London, Manchester, Glasgow, and Birmingham for the UK, and Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth for Australia. Expand "Browse all cities" on the site to see the complete UK and Australian city lists.

What to do if your city isn't listed

If you don't see your city, expand the "Browse all cities" section and check your country and region first — many mid-sized cities are included even when they aren't in the quick-jump list. If your city genuinely isn't covered, you can still use the nearest listed city as a rough reference, though prices will be less accurate for your area.

Access notes

Lowtein is described on its own site as free with no login required. The price comparisons draw on the government's published average where one exists, plus each price's own week-by-week history, so you can see what's genuinely below the typical price rather than just what carries a "sale" sticker.
