Why the site choice matters

Each regional eBay site carries its own listings, sellers, and currency. A typo search on eBay.de surfaces German listings priced in euros; the same keyword on eBay.com surfaces US listings. If you want an item you can actually buy and receive, search the site for the region you're in or the region you're willing to buy from.

The typo mechanic itself is region-independent: TypoHound generates common misspellings of your keyword (a doubled character, an omitted character, swapped characters, a neighboring key hit, or a neighboring key plus the correct character), then builds a link that hunts those misspellings on whichever eBay site you selected. The site choice only changes where that hunt happens.

How to run a search on a specific site

  1. Open TypoHound.
  2. Select your eBay site from the list (for example, eBay.co.uk for the UK).
  3. Enter your search term — the correct spelling of the item, such as "Samsung".
  4. Follow the generated link to see the misspelled listings on that eBay site.

Expected result: you land on eBay results showing auctions whose titles contain a typo of your term, which normal searches for the correct spelling would miss.

Choosing the right site

  • Buying locally or within your country: pick your own regional site first.
  • Hunting a wider pool of sellers: run the same keyword on more than one site, since listings don't overlap across regions.
  • Cross-border shipping concerns: a cheaper typo listing on a foreign site may cost more once shipping and import handling are added, so compare the landed cost before bidding.
