Which Longwood Gardens Events Are Free With Admission?

Updated

Most of Longwood Gardens' autumn 2026 programming — Emerald City Weekend, Spellbound Weekend, the Main Fountain Garden performances, Live Music in the Beer Garden, the Garden Railway, and the harvest displays — is free with Gardens admission. The exception in the current lineup is Meet Us at the Mums, which is free with admission but requires advance registration. Separately, members need free reservations to visit on Fridays–Sundays after 3:00 pm through November 1.

Free With Gardens Admission

These events are included in the price of admission, so no separate event ticket is needed:

Free, but Registration Required

Meet Us at the Mums — October 24, 2026, 1:00–3:00 pm. Free with Gardens admission, but advance registration is required. If this is on your list, register before you plan the rest of your visit.

Member Reservation Rule

Through November 1, member reservations are required to visit Fridays–Sundays after 3:00 pm. Members can make free reservations through the Member Portal. This matters most for the weekend Fountain Fest evenings (5:00–9:00 pm), which fall inside that window.

How to Plan Around This

  1. Pick your date and check whether it lands on a Friday–Sunday after 3:00 pm. If you're a member, book your free reservation first.
  2. Confirm the event is listed as free with admission (everything above except Meet Us at the Mums).
  3. For Meet Us at the Mums, complete advance registration separately.
  4. Check the daytime and Illuminated Fountain Performance schedules, since they run on different timetables through November 1.

The main trap is assuming a weekend evening event needs no planning: the Fountain Fest weekends are free with admission, but members still need a reservation for Friday–Sunday after 3:00 pm, and Meet Us at the Mums needs registration regardless.
