Which Mountain Bike Trails Does RAMBO List and Where Are They Located?

Updated

RAMBO (Roswell-Alpharetta Mountain Bike Organization) lists six trail areas across North Atlanta: Big Creek, Mt. Adams, Charleston Park, Haw Creek Park, and Matt Park. Big Creek is the largest, with cross-country, freeride, pump tracks, and a skills area. The other four are single destinations in Alpharetta and Forsyth County (Cumming). All are listed on rambo-mtb.org with live trail status.

The site's trail status snapshot (dated Wed, 9/23 at 07:34 AM) shows all of these as open at that time: Big Creek (Cross Country, Freeride, Pump Tracks, Skills Kitchen), Mt. Adams, Charleston Park, Haw Creek, and Matt Park.

How to Check Trail Status Before You Ride

Trail status is posted in two places:

  1. The RAMBO website — the current status appears on the homepage.
  2. The RAMBO MTB Trail Status account on X (Twitter) — x.com/rambomtbstatus. Note that X requires login to see the latest tweets; the X app can be configured for push notifications when status changes.

Because trail conditions change with weather, check one of these sources before driving out rather than relying on the snapshot above.

Events at These Trails

RAMBO's upcoming events are concentrated at Big Creek Park, including:

  • Freeflite Group Ride at Big Creek — October 2, 2026
  • Quick Six Prep Work Party (Freeride Prep) — October 3, 2026
  • Little Hammies at Big Creek — October 9, 2026
  • Quick Six Enduro and Bike Fest — October 9–11, 2026
  • SORBA Fall Board Meeting (Columbus, GA) — October 24, 2026
  • Freeride event — November 6, 2026

The site also mentions night rides, trail improvements, and group rides, and describes itself as an IMBA/SORBA chapter in North Atlanta.

Practical Notes

  • Big Creek is the hub. It is the only listed location with multiple distinct trail types (XC, freeride, pump tracks, skills area) and the only one hosting the events shown on the homepage. If you want variety in one trip, start there.
  • Forsyth County trails cluster together. Charleston Park, Haw Creek Park, and Matt Park are all in Cumming, so they can be combined into a single outing more easily than mixing them with Big Creek.
  • Membership and trail funding. The site promotes RAMBO membership and a Turbo Levo 4 giveaway (entries open until October 11 at 2:30 pm) as ways to support local trail building. The giveaway page explains how entries fund trails.
  • Trail types aren't listed for every location. The site specifies cross-country, freeride, pump tracks, and skills features only for Big Creek; for Mt. Adams, Charleston Park, Haw Creek, and Matt Park, check the individual trail pages or ride reports before assuming what to bring.
