Which Piercings Exotix Studios Does Not Offer
Updated
Exotix Studios in Toronto does not offer industrial, snake eye, frog eye, or nasallang piercings, any surface piercings, or extreme body modifications such as scarification, ear pointing, or tongue bifurcation. Everything else is considered case by case: the studio states that most piercings are offered as long as they are anatomically viable and safe, and every piercing starts with an anatomy consultation.
The full list of what is not offered
According to the studio's own service information, the following are excluded:
| Category | Not offered |
|---|---|
| Ear/cartilage piercings | Industrial, snug-style surface work falls under the surface exclusion below |
| Eye-area piercings | Snake eye, frog eye |
| Through-and-through nose piercings | Nasallang |
| Surface piercings | All surface piercings (including surface bars and similar) |
| Extreme body modification | Scarification, ear pointing, tongue bifurcation |
If the piercing you want appears on this list, Exotix is not the studio for that procedure — you would need to look elsewhere rather than book a consultation hoping for an exception.
Why these are excluded
The studio frames its menu around anatomy and safety: most piercings are available only if they are "anatomically viable and safe," and all piercings require an anatomy consultation first. The excluded procedures are the ones that either carry higher rejection or migration risk (surface piercings, snake eye, frog eye), pass through significant tissue (nasallang), or fall outside standard piercing practice into body modification (scarification, ear pointing, tongue bifurcation).
This matters for your planning: even for piercings that are offered, the consultation can still end in a "no" if your anatomy does not support the placement. The list above is a hard no; everything else is a maybe until you are assessed in person.
What this means if your piercing is on the list
- Do not book expecting an exception. The exclusions are stated as studio policy, not preferences.
- Ask about alternatives. Some goals behind excluded piercings can be met another way — for example, a different cartilage placement instead of an industrial — but only a piercer can tell you whether a safe alternative exists for your anatomy.
- Check age rules separately. Even offered piercings have age limits: body piercings are 16+ with government-issued photo ID, and nipple, genital, and microdermal piercings are 18+.
Quick way to check before you go
- Find your desired piercing in the table above.
- If it is listed, stop — Exotix does not perform it.
- If it is not listed, treat it as available pending an anatomy consultation.
- Confirm your age category (16+ or 18+) and bring government-issued photo ID.
The studio's piercers — Six (owner, piercing since 1999), Gordon (since 2009), and apprentice Lindsay — can advise on what is possible for your anatomy during the consultation, but they cannot override the exclusions listed here.
