Why Can't I View Pages on Phoenix Place?
Updated
Phoenix Place (phoenixplace.xyz) is a MyBB forum, and most of its content is only visible to logged-in members. If you see a "Board Message" telling you that you are either not logged in or do not have permission to view the page, the cause is almost always one of four things: you aren't signed in, your account isn't active yet, your account has been disabled, or you're trying to open a page your account isn't allowed to see. The page itself lists these possibilities, so the fix depends on which one applies to you.
What the message actually means
When you hit a restricted page, Phoenix Place shows a standard MyBB notice with this wording:
You are either not logged in or do not have permission to view this page.
It then lists the likely reasons:
- You are not logged in or registered.
- You do not have permission to access the page.
- Your account may have been disabled by an administrator, or it may be awaiting account activation.
- You accessed the page directly rather than through the proper forms or links.
That list is the diagnostic checklist. Work through it in order.
Fix 1: Log in
If you have an account but aren't signed in, use the Log In link in the header. The login form asks for:
- Username
- Password
- Remember me (optional checkbox)
There is also a Forgotten your Password? link if you can't get in. After logging in, retry the page you wanted.
Fix 2: Register if you don't have an account
If you've never signed up, use Create Account in the header. Registration is required before most boards become visible — the notice explicitly says you may be seeing it because you are "not logged in or registered."
Fix 3: Check whether your account is activated
A brand-new account may be awaiting account activation. Until activation completes, the forum treats you like a guest and blocks member-only pages. If you registered recently and still can't view anything after logging in, this is the most likely cause. Check your email for an activation step, or contact the team if nothing arrives.
Fix 4: Your account may be disabled
The notice also states your account "may have been disabled by an administrator." If you could view pages before and suddenly can't, and logging in doesn't help, this is a possibility worth ruling out by contacting the site team.
Fix 5: You may be opening the wrong kind of page
Some pages are administrative or otherwise restricted by permission level, and the notice warns about "trying to access administrative pages or a resource that you shouldn't be." It also flags accessing a page directly instead of through the forum's own forms and links. If you followed a bookmark or an old direct URL, go back to the board index and navigate to the content normally.
Quick diagnosis
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Never registered | No account | Use Create Account |
| Have an account, not signed in | Logged out | Use Log In |
| Just registered, still blocked | Awaiting activation | Complete activation / check email |
| Could view before, now blocked | Account disabled | Contact the team |
| Only certain pages blocked | Permission level | Use normal links, avoid admin pages |
| Page opened from a direct link | Wrong access path | Navigate from the board index |
If none of it works
Use the Team Contact link in the footer to reach the site staff. Include your username and the page you were trying to view so they can tell you whether it's a permission issue, an activation problem, or a disabled account.
