Fishponds Practice is adopting the name the Chestnut Practice after more than 30 years of osteopathic care in Fishponds, Bristol. The change is a rebranding rather than a closure or sale: the same osteopaths — Martyn, Gaby, Paddy and Elly — will keep treating patients as before, and Nina Hurrell, an osteopath at the practice since 2016, becomes Director. The phone number stays the same, and a new website and email address are due in November.

Fees
The practice states its fees remain £60 for an initial consultation and treatment and £55 for follow-up appointments. It also says it does not charge in advance for a series of appointments, since some may not be necessary.
What patients need to do
Most patients need to do nothing. Two points are worth noting:
- Records: from 1 November 2026 your patient records transfer securely to The Chestnut Practice, which becomes the data controller. The practice says your notes and how they are looked after will stay the same. If you would prefer your records not to transfer, you must tell the practice by 23 October.
- Contact details: keep using the existing phone number, 0117 949 1290. From November, use the new email address [email protected] for questions or concerns.
Why the change matters
The practice frames the rename as a way to secure the future of osteopathic care in Fishponds: a long-established clinic continues under a new identity and a new Director, with the existing team and services intact. For patients, the practical effect is limited to the name, the email address and the records controller — appointments, practitioners and pricing carry on as before.
The practice is at 834 Fishponds Road, Bristol BS16 3XA. Until the new website launches in November, the current site and the phone line remain the ways to get in touch.
