Where the brands come from
KWV was founded in 1918 and sources grapes from more than 50 farms and 400 vineyard sites across the Western Cape, including Paarl, Stellenbosch, Swartland, Perdeberg, Malmesbury, Darling, Elgin, Robertson and Wellington. Grapes are handled and transported to KWV's cellar facilities in Paarl, a site of nearly 32 hectares that includes the Cathedral Cellar built in 1930.
How to choose between them
- For a well-known red-led wine: start with Roodeberg.
- For a premium or special-occasion wine: look at The Mentors.
- For a brandy: KWV Brandy is the direct match.
- For gin: Cruxland.
- For a cream liqueur: Wild Africa Cream.
- For a broader wine selection: Laborie, Cathedral Cellar and Classic Collection sit alongside the flagship names.
