The lineup runs from October 2026 through April 2027 and moves across three venues on the UConn campus: the Nafe Katter Theatre, the Studio Theatre, and the Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre. Each show has a dedicated "About & Tickets" page linked from the CRT homepage, and the box office can be reached at 860-486-2113 or [email protected].

What Each Production Offers

Twelfth Night — October 2026

Shakespeare's comedy opens the season at the Nafe Katter Theatre. It is the only Shakespeare title on the slate and the first chance to see CRT's professional and student artists together this year.

Little Women — December 2026

Lauren Gunderson's adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's novel returns to the Nafe Katter Theatre for a December run. Licensing information points to Concord Theatricals, the play's publisher.

Giants Have Us in Their Books — March 2027

José Rivera's collection of short plays is staged in the Studio Theatre, the season's most intimate venue. Its mid-March dates make it the spring semester's first offering.

Urinetown, the Musical — April 2027

The season closes with the satirical musical at the Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre, the largest of the three spaces. The production is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI), which supplies all authorized performance materials.

How to Plan Around the Season

  • Check dates before booking travel. Each run is roughly one to two weeks long, so the window for any single show is narrow. Confirm the exact performance schedule on the individual show page rather than relying on the season overview.
  • Note the venue for each title. The season uses three different theatres, so seating and accessibility details will vary by production.
  • Use the Flex Pass for flexibility. CRT advertises Flex Passes as a way to get discounts and flexibility across the season; details and purchase are handled through a dedicated Flex Pass page.
  • Stay informed by email. CRT invites audiences to join its e-mailing list for updates, which is useful if performance times or casting details change closer to opening.

Who CRT Is

CRT produces under a year-round contract with the Actors' Equity Association and serves as a cultural center for Connecticut and New England. Productions are directed and designed by, and cast with, visiting professional artists—including Equity actors, faculty, and the department's student artists. The organization describes its model as one where the synergy between professionals and students creates a distinctive learning environment for developing theater. That context helps explain the season's mix of classical work, literary adaptation, contemporary short-form drama, and musical theater.
