How does Convertify convert a website into a mobile app?
Updated
Convertify turns a website URL into a native mobile app package that you submit to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store yourself. You choose an Android-only, iOS-only, or combined build, submit your site URL, and Convertify's team develops and delivers the app files to your inbox in under 24 hours. This fits site owners who want a store-ready app without writing native code, and who are prepared to handle store submission and review on their own.
The conversion workflow
The process has four stages, and only the first one is yours to do before delivery.
- Submit your website URL. Enter the website you want converted into a native app. This is the only input Convertify asks for on the landing page.
- Convertify develops the app. The team builds the app and delivers it to your inbox. The stated turnaround is less than 24 hours.
- Receive your app files. What you get depends on the build you picked (see the deliverables table below).
- Upload to the App Store or Play Store. Convertify's own wording is "simply upload your app" — the store submission and review process is left to you.
What you receive, by build
| Build | Deliverable | Price (one time) | Store target |
|---|---|---|---|
| Android | APK file | $99 | Google Play Store |
| iOS | IPA file | $99 | Apple App Store |
| Android & iOS | Both app files | $149 | Both stores |
Prices are listed on Convertify's pricing page as one-time charges. The combined build is $49 cheaper than buying the two single-platform builds separately.
Features included in the app
These are the capabilities Convertify lists for the converted app:
- Push notifications — sent through OneSignal.com, with deep linking and targeting to specific user groups. Convertify states OneSignal won't charge you for this.
- Pull to refresh — swipe-down page refresh, which can also indicate page loading.
- Downloads & uploads — file download and upload are enabled.
- Database support — the app reads MySQL, Oracle 12c, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MariaDB, DB2, and SAP HANA.
- App linking & sharing — links to other applications and to a web browser.
- Media playback — video and audio recording and playback.
What you still need to handle
Convertify delivers the app file; it does not deliver the store listing. Before you can publish, expect to deal with the parts every developer faces:
- An Apple Developer account (for iOS) and/or a Google Play Console account (for Android).
- Store assets and metadata — screenshots, descriptions, and privacy disclosures.
- Store review, including any rejection and resubmission cycle.
The site does not describe how it handles accounts, credentials, or store setup, so treat those as your responsibility unless Convertify tells you otherwise after you submit your URL.
Choosing a build
- Android only ($99) — pick this if your audience is primarily on Google Play or you want to test the concept at the lowest cost.
- iOS only ($99) — pick this if your users are on iPhone and you only need an App Store listing.
- Both ($149) — the sensible default if you want full coverage, since it costs less than two separate builds and gives you both files in one delivery.
One practical note: the 24-hour figure covers app development and delivery, not store approval. Budget additional time for review after you upload.
