How to Report a Bug in a hai!touch Studios Game

Updated

Report bugs in one of two places: post a comment or start a thread on the itch.io listing for the specific game, or raise it in the official Matrix chat. The studio's FAQ on its itch.io page names both channels, so either is an accepted route.

Where to Send the Report

Channel How to use it Best for

Official Matrix chat Post your report in the studio's Matrix community chat Quick back-and-forth, or when you are unsure which listing applies

The FAQ does not list an email address or a separate bug tracker, so stick to these two options rather than hunting for a form.

What to Include

The page does not prescribe a template, but a useful report usually covers:

  • Game and version — the title as listed on itch.io, plus any version number shown on the page.
  • Platform — these are browser-playable games, so note the browser and operating system you used.
  • Steps to reproduce — what you did, in order, before the problem appeared.
  • Expected vs. actual result — what should have happened and what did.
  • Evidence — a screenshot or short clip if the bug is visual.

Practical Notes

  • Pick the right listing. The studio has many separate game pages (for example Dozo-Dozo, 2048: Ball Merge, Paintformer, Shingo!, and Sedimental Journey), so post under the game where you saw the issue.
  • Browser games still have platform-specific bugs. Since the games run in the browser, mention your browser and OS; that context helps narrow down whether the problem is in the game or the environment.
  • iOS is not a target. The FAQ states there will never be an iOS version, so don't report "missing on iOS" as a bug — it is a deliberate decision, not a defect.
  • Check the FAQ first. Questions about the engines used (Godot 3 LTS, Godot 4, or Redot Engine) are already answered there, which keeps the bug thread focused.

Verifying Your Report Went Through

After posting on itch.io, your comment or thread appears publicly on the game page; if you don't see it, the post likely failed to submit and should be retried. In the Matrix chat, a posted message shows in the room timeline. Either way, a reply from the developer or community members confirms the report was received.
