What types of social proof popups does Popify offer?
Updated
Popify offers seven popup types for Shopify, Wix, and WooCommerce stores, each built from data already in your store: recent sales, add-to-cart activity, live visitor counter, sales counter, review popups, video sales popups, and announcement/offer or discount popups. You pick a type, start from a template, and it goes live — the popup content reflects your own orders, visitors, and reviews rather than generic text.
The seven popup types
| Popup type | What it shows | Data source |
|---|---|---|
| Recent sales popup | Who bought what, and how long ago (e.g., "Sarah from Leeds just purchased Wireless Headphones · 2 min ago") | Your real orders |
| Add-to-cart activity | What other shoppers are adding to their carts right now | Live cart activity |
| Live visitor counter | How many people are viewing a product at this moment (e.g., "24 people are viewing this product") | Live visitor data |
| Sales counter | How many times a product sold in the last 24 hours (e.g., "32 sold in the last 24 hours") | Your order history |
| Review popup | Customer reviews surfaced while people browse, pulled from Editorify and Ryviu | Your review apps |
| Video sales popup | A short product video in a popup so shoppers see the product in action | Your product video |
| Announcement & offer / discount popup | News, free shipping thresholds, or a copyable coupon code (e.g., "10% off your first order — WELCOME10") | Your campaign settings |
How the types differ in practice
The first four types are activity-based: they run on autopilot from store data and require no content creation. Recent sales, add-to-cart, live visitor, and sales counter popups all pull from real orders and live traffic, so they update as your store does.
The last three are content-based: you supply something. Review popups depend on having Editorify or Ryviu installed and collecting reviews. Video popups need a product video. Announcement and discount popups need your message, code, and call-to-action link.
Choosing between them
- New or low-traffic store? Activity popups can look thin if there's little to show. Announcement, discount, or video popups work without order volume.
- Established store with steady sales? Recent sales and sales counter popups have real data to display and tend to be the lowest-effort option.
- Already using Editorify or Ryviu? Review popups add a second use for reviews you've already collected.
- Running a promotion? Discount and announcement popups carry the code or offer directly, with a copy button for coupon codes.
Platform and trial notes
Popify supports Shopify, Wix, and WooCommerce, and its popups are described as fitting every screen size on Wix. A 3-day free trial is listed on every plan, and pricing details are available on the Popify pricing page. The app is rated 4.8 from 421 reviews on the Wix App Market and is also available on the Shopify App Store.
If you want popups that run themselves, start with recent sales or the live visitor counter. If you want to push a specific message or offer, start with the announcement or discount popup.
