Which Modded Client Do I Need for Each Call of Duty Game on GameServe.rs?

Updated

GameServe.rs groups its live server lists by the client that keeps each title online, so the client you need depends entirely on which Call of Duty game you want to play. Plutonium covers four titles, AlterWare covers three, Aurora covers two, and IW4x, HorizonMW, CoD4x, and S2x each cover one. The original Call of Duty, CoD2, and United Offensive are listed separately through cod.pm.

Client-to-game mapping

Client Call of Duty titles covered
Plutonium World at War, Black Ops, Black Ops II, Modern Warfare 3
IW4x Modern Warfare 2 (2009)
AlterWare Ghosts, Advanced Warfare, Black Ops III
Aurora Modern Warfare Remastered, Infinite Warfare
HorizonMW MW2 Campaign Remastered multiplayer
CoD4x Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
S2x Call of Duty: WWII
cod.pm CoD1, CoD2, United Offensive

GameServe.rs also splits zombie modes into their own lists — World at War Zombies, Black Ops Zombies, and Black Ops II Zombies appear as separate entries alongside their base games.

How to use the mapping

  1. Find your game in the "By game" list or the "By client" list on GameServe.rs. Titles are grouped the way the community actually splits them: by the client that keeps them online.
  2. Open that title's page. Each game page links to the client or its community, so you can download or join the right one.
  3. Join a server from the list. Every row shows the server address as a console command. Click it to copy connect <address>, then open the in-game console (usually the tilde key) and paste it. On clients with a built-in browser, you can also search for the server name once the client is running.

What the live list adds

Player counts refresh every 20 seconds, so you can sort by players to find a server with people in it rather than guessing. The list also supports sorting by name, map, mode, and game, and you can filter by client or hide trickshot servers.

Common questions

Which client do I need for each Call of Duty game? It depends on the title — use the table above. Plutonium covers World at War, Black Ops, Black Ops II, and Modern Warfare 3; IW4x covers Modern Warfare 2; AlterWare covers Ghosts, Advanced Warfare, and Black Ops III; Aurora covers Modern Warfare Remastered and Infinite Warfare; HorizonMW covers MW2 Campaign Remastered multiplayer; CoD4x covers Call of Duty 4; S2x covers Call of Duty: WWII; and cod.pm lists the original CoD1, CoD2, and United Offensive servers.

How do I join a server from this list? Click the server address in any row to copy the connect console command, open the in-game console, and paste it. Clients with a built-in browser also let you search for the server name directly.
